I don't think I've managed to draw a Death Eater more unsavoury-looking than this fine, upstanding gentleman.

So, Amycus. Badly-shaven, lopsided and completely nasty. If he's happy to jab his own finger with that knife, imagine what he's going to do to you with it.

you know, you wouldn't think he's related to Alecto. they're so different. he's really scary. i don't think any of the others are as scary

It is pronounced that way, but the 'am' is pronounced the way you would say the word 'am'.

Combine this with Cillian Murphy as Amycus (I think it's a perfect match in my opinion.) and you have super death eater epicness.
